How to Generate Content in a Flash

When I start working with clients on their batching process, one of the most common obstacles we encounter is coming up with ideas for content.

I’ve found though, that content brainstorming doesn’t have to be as challenging as we often make it! By following a few of my favorite content tips, my clients are able to generate a lot of ideas in a relatively short period of time.

So, let’s get started!

1. Your Frequently Asked Questions

Start by considering the most common questions you get from clients and potential clients. These questions make great starting points for content and allow you to not only address what people commonly ask, but to also establish yourself as the expert.

Another added bonus of these questions is that you are reflecting back to the client what they actually want to know. Many times, a client may not realize what they really need so they come asking a different question. By addressing those questions, you are attracting people who need you but may not know what the “right” solution is.

2. Things You Wish Your Clients Knew Before They Started Working With You

This is a big one! Ask yourself what you wish your clients knew before they came to you.

One of my clients provides webinar product support and commonly laments clients purchasing expensive tools they don’t need before they come to her. So, for her, addressing common webinar tech needs and solutions would be great content to create.

This is also a way to educate your potential clients on how you can help them solve their problems. By focusing on what you wish they knew, you can fill in gaps that make working with you even more attractive.

3. What You Cover in Your Services, Courses, Programs, or Products

This has a dual purpose – it helps people find you based on how you can serve them and it allows you to softly market and preview what you sell.

Many struggle with this because they worry about giving away “too much” for free. But the reality is that anything you provide in a simple blog post is incredibly unlikely to be as good as your paid offerings.

What does it do? It helps attract people so you can help them!

These posts are also great content you can use to softly promote your offerings consistently on your blog. You can also use these posts in paid advertising methods as well!

Every time I sit down to generate content or work with my clients to generate content, I start with these three types of topics. I also find it helpful to have past content handy — more on that here.

As your business evolves and grows, your content will too. But using this framework helps you stay grounded and generate topics quickly.
